Maysa Plaza Hotel was inaugurated on the 06th of June in 2003. Its owner is a gynecologist doctor. He decided to invest in the hotel area when he realized that the number of accomodations offered in Caruaru was insufficient for the medium and large sized events promoted in the city, such as workshops and congresses. Moreover, when visited by pharmaceutical laboratories representatives and propagandists, he always heard their comments about the necessity of staying lodged in the city centre, but there was very little offer of vacancies, which led the doctor to decide to build a hotel near Maurício de Nassau's neighbourhood, which is very near Caruaru's centre and the medical, gastronomical and commercial poles. The hotel's name is a hommage to his daughter, Fernanda Maysa.
The Maysa Plaza Hotel started its activities with only 18 housing units (UH's) and in March, 2010, it opened 24 new UH's and a brand new, improved, more spacious and fully climatized restaurant.
The hotel offers, now, 68 accomodations, with an expansion project to 12 more UH's, with three (3) carefully designed for guests with special needs. The hotel also has 2 auditoriums, American bar with a stage for small performances, elevator and covered parking area (with limited number of vacancies), among many other facilities.
